Small Wonders DVD and National Change Programme
Small Wonders is a series of twelve films for the parents of premature and sick babies and the healthcare professionals who support them. To make these films, we filmed in 10 hospitals across the UK, following 14 families from birth to first birthday, as they learned how to play a vital role in their baby’s care.
This video resource is unique in conveying a wealth of evidence-based information in an engaging and accessible way through observing the stories of real parents as they unfold. It forms part of a National Change Programme across the NHS that aims to support families of sick and premature babies to be at the centre of their baby’s care in ways that are known to improve health outcomes. It is being given on DVD to parents in neonatal units across the UK, as well as being available to view online. The resource is also being used to train neonatal staff.
"It has been a privilege to be involved in the making of a resource that will be a great help to future parents."
